A ‘light up’ to remember this July.
All week long, day to night.
July 1st – July 22nd
We welcome the stunning light installation Kōhatu & The Sphere to Parnell. A gift from Parnell to one and all in Auckland with the goal of warming hearts, connecting friends and inviting families to be awed and inspired.
Between 5pm and 8pm every Friday in July (1st-22nd) Heard Park Parnell is the space to be.
Enjoy a free hot drink thanks to the Tin Man, get your friends involved, your family, a hot date, and plan your school holiday adventure. Get amongst a ‘selfie spree’ with Kōhatu & The Sphere…a light installation that will add some magic to your socials, as well as your relationships. Enjoy the sexy sound of a roaming saxophonist to add that extra ‘ahhhh’ to a winter evening and voila, you’ve got your ‘once in a night-time’ experience sorted for July!
This year, for the mid-winter light installation in Heard Park, we wanted something that spoke to a collective re-grounding. To the earth, to sustainability, to culture. We want to support local talent in areas of both the arts as well as performance. We want to give those who attend something to take away that is uplifting, that leaves all who come along feeling lighter than before they arrived and experienced Kōhatu & The Sphere.
Kōhatu meaning 'rock' in Te Reo, invites all those who want to reconnect to the foundations of themselves and the foundations of community after being isolated from each other for so long, to come and enjoy. This special light installation by artist Fish Aberadi is open to all and does not lend itself to discriminate or exclude. It exists to provide joy, all month long.
Kōhatu & The Sphere in Heard Park Parnell, day and night, for July only. See you and yours there!
