A mere five-minute drive in a golf cart from the Sheraton Fiji Golf & Beach Resort lies a culinary gem that's redefining the dining experience. The Farm to Fork initiative, in partnership with Marriott Bonvoy, is a testament to the commitment of this luxury resort to deliver a memorable and sustainable dining adventure.

Upon arrival at the farm, we were greeted with the intoxicating aroma of the lush, vibrant farm that surrounded us. Chilli plants, aromatic herbs, eggplants, tomatoes, and sugar cane rustled in the tropical breeze.

The Farm to Fork concept is more than a mere idea here; it's a living, thriving reality. This agricultural wonderland also boasts avocado trees, cabbages, coconuts, paw paw trees and banana plantations. Our journey began with a friendly local expert demonstrating the fine art of coconut cutting, providing us with refreshing, naturally-sweet coconut water. We wandered casually through the newly planted gardens followed by a Kava ceremony and display.

The evening's pièce de résistance was the Lovo - a Fijian method of cooking in the ground, presented as a grand buffet, a feast of colors and flavors, showcasing the bounties of the local farm. The lovo is often reserved for special occasions in Fijian villages and is a core part of the local culinary arts. The chefs transformed these fresh ingredients into culinary masterpieces, tantalizing our taste buds with every bite. From delectable chilli-infused dishes to sumptuous seafood salads and Lovo chicken, lamb and a tasty coconut cream. spinach and tomato dish, the menu was a revelation of farm-fresh goodness.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, we were treated to a mesmerizing dance and fire show. It was a cultural performance that transported us into the heart of Fiji's rich heritage, further enriching our dining experience.
